SCAM Alert!

We have recently been informed of a very convincing scam posing as HMRC via email.

We believe this scam is requesting a payment be made to HMRC via your gateway, we suspect the scam will take you to a payments page where your company card details will be entered.

Please remain vigilant and ensure you check the following to avoid falling victim to fraud.

How to spot a scam

  1. Check the senders email address, HMRC have a specific email address that they use, if senders address looks like it has come from “joeblogs@weareanemailaddress.com” do not click on any links or reply to that email.
  2. Company details. Are your company details within the email correct, or does something look a little off?
HMRC are always accurate in their wording, they are very particular when it comes to details.
  3. Is this the first you have been made aware of the content within the email? HMRC send letters first, they will never send out emails to notify you of an issue unless they have received your explicit content to communicate in that format.

What do I do now?

If you think you have received a scam email, please report it to HMRC immediately, they take this very seriously.
