Why Paper Records Are No Longer Acceptable
HMRC’s move to digital reporting means paper-only records are no longer sufficient.
Paper records:
- Get lost
- Fade
- Are not searchable
- Cannot be digitally audited
Digital records:
- Are secure
- Are backed up
- Meet compliance requirements
- Integrate with accounting software
If you receive paper receipts, they must be scanned or photographed and stored digitally.
Keeping a bag of paperwork is no longer compliant.
